Matchly is a mobile application developed and operated by Avenue Apps. We take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use Matchly.
1. Information We Collect
Personal Data
When you create an account through social authentication (Google, Facebook, or Apple Sign In), we collect your name, email address, and profile photo as provided by the authentication provider. If you join a party as a guest, we only collect the nickname you choose.
Usage Data
We collect usage analytics data tied to your user account to improve our service and recommendation algorithms. This data is stored exclusively on our own servers (first-party only — we do not use any third-party analytics services like Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or similar). The events we track include: • App opens and session activity • Party and Couple session creation, joining, and completion • Category selections and preference completions • Swipe actions (like/dislike) within matching sessions • Match results revealed • Advertisement views and skips • Mode switching (Party ↔ Couple) • Share link creation Each event records the event type, your platform (iOS/Android), app version, and relevant context (e.g., category type, session type). No personally identifiable information beyond your internal user ID is attached to analytics events.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to: • Provide and maintain our service • Create and manage your account • Enable party and couple matching sessions • Improve our recommendation algorithms based on your preferences • Send you notifications related to your sessions (if enabled) • Display relevant advertisements through Google AdMob • Communicate service updates and important notices
3. Advertising
We use Google AdMob to display video advertisements before match results are revealed. AdMob may use device identifiers and usage data to serve personalized ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings. We also offer an ad-free experience through voluntary support via Buy Me a Coffee.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data with: • Authentication providers (Google, Facebook, Apple) for login purposes • Google AdMob for advertising services • Other participants in your party or couple sessions (limited to your display name and avatar) • Service providers who assist in operating our app
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. Match history is stored indefinitely unless you request deletion. Raw analytics event data is retained for 90 days, after which it is automatically purged. Aggregated, non-identifiable metrics derived from analytics data may be retained indefinitely for service improvement purposes. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time through the app settings or by contacting us.
6. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's Privacy
Matchly is not intended for children under 13 years of age. Avenue Apps does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.
8. Your Rights
